It’s All About Broadway

Visiting New York brings to mind countless activities to enjoy, experiences to have, and places to visit – you seriously need to make peace with the fact you’re not going to see everything in one visit!

Where you base yourself is very important when you are planning your city break to the Big Apple, and you also need to give some serious thought to what you are actually going to do, in order to avoid wasting too much time in the mornings, trying to plan where you’re going to head that day.

One particular activity which everyone needs to do, an experience to be had, is to head to a Broadway show.

This is a show like nowhere else, and some of most famous and iconic shows have residencies here.

Phantom of the Opera is one of the best loved shows on the planet, and seeing it on Broadway is a fantastic experience. What about Cats? Does Wicked call out to you? Kinky Boots will have you laughing, and Jersey Boys will have you sniffling into your tissues!

There is a show for everyone in the Theater District, and it’s really a case of narrowing down your choice according to your likes and dislikes.

Of course, finding Broadway tickets is going to be your first task, because without that precious piece of paper, you’re not going anywhere! The first piece of advice is to always check where you’re buying your tickets from, because you should not get them from anywhere that is not official. Stick to reputable websites or the official Box Office of the theatre itself. There will be ticket touts all over the area, but do not buy from them by any means. Yes, they will be cheaper, but the piece of paper you will have in your hands afterwards is not an official ticket, and you will have lost a considerable amount of money because of it. This is not an experience you want from your holiday.

When you do get official tickets and you head off to your Broadway show of choice, you are in for a real treat. There are many restaurants around the theatres too, so you can really make a night of it, or an afternoon if you choose to go for a matinee performance instead.

What else are you going to do when you visit NYC?

The options are endless.

Head off shopping, visit the Statue of Liberty, check out the view from the Rockefeller Center observatory deck, head to Coney Island, visit the Empire State Building, check out Central Park – the list goes on and on.

Put simply, your time in New York will certainly not be boring, or leisurely!
